First I'd like to say that I don't really care, but for any of you people who might care, I just got an e-mail that you might be interested. Don't expect me to follow up on any of this though.
It is as follows:
Dear Student Organization Leader,
Your organization has not yet re-registered online via MavOrgs for Fall 2011. If you fail to re-register your organization by midnight tonight (September 9, 2011), your organization will be placed on temporary inactive status.
Re-Registration
[Due September 9]
Fall re-registration is now open for all student organizations. No more paper updates—it’s now quick and easy online! Log in to MavOrgs (
http://mavorgs.uta.edu) and click the ‘Register this Organization’ button under your listing in the Organizations Directory. The registration process will ask you for directory information (e-mail, websites, social media, phone, fax, etc) a profile photo, and organization interests that describe your organization. Please have on-hand at the time of registration officer information (name, email, MavID #) for at least 3 officers and Advisor information (name, email, campus box number, department) as that information will be requested. Keep in mind the person who completes this will be listed as the Primary Contact within the system. When you complete re-registration, please encourage your officers and members to log in to MavOrgs and join your organization to communicate with you, each other, and our office, and to stay up to speed on events on campus.
Also,
Risk Management compliance is mandatory!
Tier 1 Organizations
See here(
https://mavorgs.collegiatelink.net/organization/sgo/documentlibrary) for full list of Tier 1 organizations. The list is also attached to this e-mail.
Mark your calendars now for a Fall Risk Management session! Per the Implementation of House Bill 2639, Senate Bill 1138, and Texas Education Code 51.9361, student organizations are required to learn about potential risks to facilitate safe and successful events and interactions. President and one other officer (Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, etc.) must attend for each Tier 1 organization. No need to register, just show up on the day of your convenience to one of the following sessions:
Wednesday September 14 Noon San Jacinto
Thursday September 15 12:30 p.m. San Jacinto
Tuesday September 20 12:30 p.m. San Jacinto
Wednesday September 21 Noon San Jacinto
Thursday September 22 6:00 p.m. San Jacinto
Tier 2 Organizations
Tier 2 organization Presidents will be required to complete the online Risk Management module that includes information on hazing, alcoholic beverages, travel and general Risk Management information. This module must be completed by you, the President. Additionally, upon completion, you verify that you will present the information covered in the module to your organization within thirty (30) days.
If you are not on the Tier 1 list listed above, you are a Tier 2 organization.
Follow the link below to access the module. Please note that there will be a quiz at the end. Paying close attention and taking notes is suggested.
https://training.uta.edu/studentrisk1112/ This must be completed by Friday, September 23. The penalty for non-adherence will be placement of that organization on inactive status. Inactive status will result in the immediate loss of room reservations, inactive campus bank accounts, and probation of room reservations until February 2012.
